Frantisek (Czech for Francis) Alexim Brodil was born in Pelhrimov, Bohemia (now Czech Republic) on 23 Jan 1868. Music was a passion of Frantisek. He was Czech, but spoke both Czech and German and moved to Vienna for government employment. There he was in a military orchestra and taught violin lessons on the side. He also met and married Frantiska there who was also Czech, born near his home town. The had two daughters, Frances and Jane, both born in Vienna. They went on vacations to Zajickov and hunted mushrooms. They nearly starved during WW I. After the war, the country of Czechoslovakia was formed and he had declare his citizenship. He chose Czech and thus lost his job, so they moved back to Prague. He passed away shortly after returning to Prague. His wife and children said was as very kind. He never joined the LDS Church but was supportive of his wife joining.
