1. ID=LBNZ-VF7 Sir Thomas, 2nd Baron de la Warr was a member of Queen Elizabeth I's Privy Council, a member of Parliament, and knighted in 1587. From 1590 until death he was one of two Chamberlains of the Exchequer. He was a strong Puritan, so fled to Germany during the reign of Mary I. When Mary, Queen of Scots, came in May 1568 to Queen Elizabeth for refuge, Sir Thomas was one of two in charge of he. Mary asked him for help to regain her throne in Scotland, but he followed the advice of Elizabeth and evaded helping her. He taught her his Puritan views and felt he was converting her. He proposed that his nephew George Carey might marry Mary. Later he was appointed Treasurer of the Royal Household.
2. ID=KLHW-TQM Anne, Lady de la Warr, was a lady at the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Her older sister Lettice was chief Lady of the Bedchamber, and mother of the queen's favorite, Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex.

Catherine became Maid of Honor to both Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard (4th and 5th wives of Henry VIII). Then at age 15 she married Sir Francis Knollys. They were staunch Puritans and fled to Germany during the 5-year reign of Bloody Mary. When her cousin Elizabeth I became queen, Catherine was appointed Chief Lady of the Bedchamber to the queen and also became perhaps the queen's best friend. She had 14 children of whom Anne was the 11th.

8. ID=L5BC-D1G Lady Mary Boelyn was the older sister of Anne Boelyn (wife of Henry VIII & mother of Elizabeth I). Before her marriage, Mary had been the Maid of Honor of King Henry's sister Princess Mary, going to France with her in 1514 at age 15, when the princess married King Louis XII of France. In 1519 she was appointed Maid of Honor to Catherine of Aragon (first wife of King Henry VIII). At age 21 in 1520 she married William Carey and had two children. They were rumored to be illegitimate by Henry VIII, but he never claimed them, so that is doubtful. In 1534, after William's death, she secretly remarried William Stafford, a soldier. It angered her sister, Queen Anne Boleyn (queen since Jun 1533), for her to marry a commoner, so Mary was expelled from the court.
